Devine Creation. Princess Diana & Quaoar
By Neville Magee © Catalyst Healing 2003-2008

I was doing some research on Princess Diana for another article I am writing when I came across several pieces on a couple of Trans-Neptunian’s I was not familiar with. I had heard something in the news about the discovery of a new planet beyond Pluto but I did not know whether any info was available re it's application in natal astrology. It was while looking at some articles on Sedna that I came across Quaoar and several articles on this Trans-Neptunian plus an ephemeris. The mythology and meaning of Quaoar stuck a cord in relation to the work I was doing on Diana's chart so I decided to checkout the position of her natal Quaoar only to find it at 18 Libra 47 within a degree of her natal ascendant. Now hang on a minute I hear many of you cry Diana's ascendant is In Sagittarius so how can it be conjunct her ascendant. Well it's simple; Diana has two natal charts both of which are quite powerful, and the Libra ascendant one was used for many years by at least one of her astrologers. Many people may feel un-settled by the use of two charts rationalising that a person can only have one birth time, and whilst this is so, there have been many occasions over the years when a chart with the wrong time has proven to be valid, or radical as astrologers say, even on the discovery of the correct birth time. I have always favoured the Libra rising chart not initially for any sound astrological reasons (although the more I studied it these where forthcoming) but rather just because it felt right. I am not going into any in depth interpretation of these charts at present, the reason for this article is to look at the position of Quaoar in the Libra rising chart and how it speaks volumes about Diana's life and the reason behind her marriage to Prince Charles. As for the two charts issue I refer you to the notes at the end of an excellent article written by Nick Campion on Princess Diana which appeared in the Astrological Journal Vol 39 no: 5 and hope this answers some of your questions. In this article and any other article I write I will be using the Koch house system, which is the one I always use however I have no dispute with any other house system I believe whatever works for you is best.
Looking at the astrology of Diana in relation to Quaoar I thought of a title for this article. "Lady Diana Spencer. Born to Breed". But then I thought that that was perhaps a rather cynical interpretation as it was only the royal family who saw Diana as a baby machine and that her reasons for being on this earth and the contribution she made to many different fields and the effect she had on so many people was much greater than that.On the 04th June 2002 two American astronomers photographed a bright object (they believed this was the first time this object had ever been photographed, however Quaoar can be seen in photographs taken as far back as 1982) at 04.05.41 at the Palomar Observatory in California, this object was later identified and named Quaoar. Quaoar takes its name from the creation myth of the Tongva, a Native American tribe in southern California. Quaoar is the force of creation, which sang and danced the universe into existence; it has no form or gender, but is usually given a masculine pronoun in reference. For a young girl whose main ambition in life was to be a dancer and whose love of choral music is well known this description of the Tongva myth seems very appt. At the time this photo was taken the Midheaven was at 18 degrees Libra 25 just over a degree form Diana’s ascendant and only 22 minutes from her natal Quaoar. Also the moon, ruler of the 7th and 8th houses falls at 26 degrees Pisces in exact conjunction with Diana’s natal Juno, (the marriage asteroid) which is also sextile her Saturn on the I.C. Both Juno and Saturn form a Quincunx to her North Node giving us a Yod formation also known as a Finger of Fate or Finger of God. So we have Saturn the planet of duty and responsibility sextile Juno the marriage asteroid and the Quaoar discovery moon ruling the 7th and 8th houses of marriage and sex(in the discovery chart)all quincunx the North Node( which indicates ones direction in this life)which is conjunct Regulus the royal star, the south node falls close to the Saturn/Juno direct midpoint in the 5th house of children. Juno is also exactly conjunct C&Ds composite Moon. The Sun at 13 degrees Gemini is conjunct the asteroid Diana, being separated by only 11 minutes of arc.
As with Diana herself there are two charts for Quaoar’s discovery, the first being the one above and the second for the identification and naming of Quaoar see here for chart. Given that Diana was the most photographed woman in the world I had no hesitation in using the chart for the photographing of Quaoar as a most relevant chart in relation to Diana and her destiny to create an heir for the British Throne.Between the years of 1961 when Diana was born and 1984 when Prince Harry was born Quaoar transited between 18 degrees Libra and 17 degrees Scorpio effectively spending 23 years in her first house. When Prince Harry was born Diana commented that she felt his birth marked the spiritual end of her relationship with Charles. Quaoar had transited to the 17th degree of Scorpio the cusp of her second house and interestingly Harry's Midheaven. Also at the time of Harry's birth transiting Quaoar at 17 Scorpio came to a conjunction of C&D's composite Saturn in the composite 3rd house signifying an end (Saturn) to the contract (3rd house). The only natal planet Quaoar will conjunct during her whole life is Neptune, (which is presumably why she was not conscious of the contract) and it was at the age of 16 that she first met Prince Charles when Quaoar was exactly conjunct her Neptune. The deception had begun. When I say deception I don’t just mean the Prince's quest for a mother for his heir but also Diana’s self deception that she had found her knight in shining armour. Diana's Neptune does seem to be very important in the whole matter, she was very much in love and she believed Charles was also, the whole unconscious, delusional, romantic Neptunian feel of the situation, and for a girl who spent an inordinate amount of time reading romantic fiction, quite literally her Prince had come. Here we have a woman with Neptune in the first contra parallel Mars falling for a man with a Venus Neptune conjunction and a Venus Neptune parallel, so the stage is set for the fairy tale romance of the century, which turned out to be a tale of deceit, self deception, double dealing and secret affairs.I have no doubts that this enchanting English rose who had an overwhelming empathy and an immense degree of compassion when it came to seeing through his stiff upper-lipped exterior initially captivated Charles, but Venus Neptune has a habit of seeing what it wants to see. It is worth noting that Charles has his natal Neptune at 14 Libra and Venus at 16 Libra both falling in Diana's 12th house, his Venus only 2 degrees from her Quaoar. So a possible interpretation of this is a deceptive relationship (Venus conjunct Neptune in Libra in the twelfth) the purpose of which is to create (Quoaor) and heir and a spare (heir's and heir apparent's are ruled by Jupiter and Neptune). Also Diana’s Mars/Neptune midpoint falls in her 12th house at 5 Libra 4 conjunct Charles's Quaoar, which is also Quincunx, her Chiron in the 5th house of children. Quincunxes are said to be of the nature of the 6th and 8th houses this being the case one might interpret this aspect as a sexual (8th) service or duty (6th). Chiron in the 5th is about wounding with regard to children. Some with Chiron in the 5th are unable to have children of there own and may choose to adopt (another Chiron theme), others are destined to lose their children be it physically of emotionally, and in some respects this was always going to be the case for Diana in the event of a breakdown of her marriage to Charles, as no court in the land is going to give custody of children to the mother, when the father is the Prince of Wales and the children are heirs to the throne. All children are divine creations but for Diana this has an additional meaning if looked at in relation to the Tongva myth. She has been described on many occasions as a Goddess and there is even evidence of a cult growing up around her, plus sightings of her carrying out good work in various war zones. So we have a Goddess who sang and danced into creation two sons who both may be kings one day. And whilst they are not Gods or deities (although in mythology the off spring of a Goddess would themselves be divine) there are those who see them as such, one only need observe the adulation which is showered upon them by thousands of screaming girls whilst on tour, each one hoping to become the future bride and the fairytale princess of the two young princes. Between December 1980 and July 1981 there where 3 conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn, the first on the 31st Dec 1980 @ 09 Libra 30 then the 4th March 1981 @ 8 Libra 06 and finally 24th July 1981 @ 04 Libra 56 falling within a degree of Charles's Quaoar. The moon in the 31/12/80 chart is exactly conjunct Diana’s natal Neptune and her progressed Quaoar, and an exact Sun Mercury conjunction opposes her natal Sun. In the 24th July chart the conjunction falls less than a degree from the I.C., at 05 Libra 38 which is only minutes from Charles natal Quaoar. The I.C. and forth house represents and signifies our family’s influence on us, our origins, or roots, the family into which we are born. I see this Jupiter/Saturn conjunction as being William and Harry, born out of Charles need to create an heir and perpetuate the family line. The midpoint of all three of these conjunctions falls at 7 degrees Libra 44 minutes within 9 minutes of the ascendant of the marriage chart. The chart for their marriage should dispel any doubts as to the influence of Quaoar and the reason for this marriage. 7 degrees Libra is rising within 2 degrees of Charles's Quaoar at 5 Libra, also here we have the heir and the spare both exactly conjunct Charles's natal Quaoar. Jupiter the planet closest to the ascendant is Prince William who natally has Sagittarius rising with Jupiter on the M.C. and just behind Jupiter is Saturn Prince Harry who has Capricorn rising with Saturn on the M.C. pretty convincing stuff. Also at the time of the marriage there is a lot of activity around Diana's natal Neptune. If Diana's Quaoar is progressed a degree for a year it brings it to 8 Scorpio into conjunction with her Neptune, also if Charles's Quaoar is progressed a degree for a year it also comes to Diana's Neptune at 8 Scorpio. As I mentioned earlier Diana was un aware of entering into any contract other than marriage, and whilst I am sure she knew that she would have to produce children, it would be some years before she realised that that was her only function as far as Charles was concerned. Charles however was completely aware of the sort of contract he was entering into, Quaoar falls at 5 Libra in his 3rd house of contracts and is semi-sextile Saturn at 5 Virgo and Mercury at 6 Scorpio hence Quaoar falls on his Mercury Saturn midpoint. I think we can safely say that he gave this one a lot of thought.Have no doubt that both William and Harry will be faced with the same task that faced their father, namely the duty to create an heir. Most house systems put Charles Chiron in the 5th house (not Koch) also both William and Harry have their Chiron’s in the 5th house begging, the question is the same dynamic to be played out again and again, the creation of a suitable heir at the expense of a loving relationship. So is Quaoar’s influence about creation out of necessity, a duty, something cold and clinical? Certainly Quaoar’s influence can be seen in some rather famous instances where the creation of the life started in a laboratory, from Louise Brown the first test-tube baby to the cloning of Dolly the sheep. (See the article Quaoar and Reproduction: A Link Outside of Time by Alex Miller-Mignone). Whatever you choose to believe about Quaoar's influence I for one hope that Princess Diana was on this earth long to instil in her sons the importance of love when it comes to choosing a partner. My feeling is that one of them will choose love over duty and who knows we may have another Edward VIII scenario, but which one?
